LARQ Bottle Review
Overview
LARQ is one of the more innovative bottles on the market because it has a UV light built into the lid. You press a button on top, and the UV turns on.
There are many products that promise unproven or dubious health benefits. However, UV light is well-known to work against virus and bacteria, making this a good way to sanitize your water. The lid has safety built into its design too, since you can only turn on the UV light when the lid is on the bottle. If you're looking for a way to rest easier knowing your water is cleaner from bacteria and viruses (and you can afford it), LARQ's UV bottle is worth considering. |

LARQ Bottle FAQs
- Are LARQ bottles dishwasher safe? | No, LARQ recommends handwashing their PureVis UV sanitizing bottles.
- Are LARQ bottles worth it? | If your top priority is having safer water, then LARQ could be worth it if you have the budget. Keep in mind though that this bottle does not filter the water, it only uses UV light to kill viruses and bacteria.
- Are LARQ bottles leak proof? | Yes, LARQ's bottles are leak proof. If your LARQ is leaking, check the seals to make sure they are installed correctly and make sure the lid is completely closed.
- Are LARQ bottles easy to clean? | No. They are not dishwahser safe, and they have a narrow mouth that makes cleaning more difficult. You can rely more on soaking your bottle with soapy water or Bottle Bright tablets. You'll also want a small brush to clean the recessed area of the lid between the UV light and the threads, like a detailing brush with the kit shown below under Recommended Accessories (the big brush in that kit fits in a LARQ 17oz, but barely).
- Are LARQ bottles insulated? | Yes, this LARQ bottle is vacuum insulated. However, you should not use it with hot drinks.
- Are LARQ bottles durable? | We are not sure. Stainless steel is strong, but the bottle will dent if you drop it. Our main concern is with the lid. It has electronics built into it, so we would be worried that they could break if you dropped the bottle, especially on its lid.
- How long does LARQ's battery charge last? | LARQ claims it can last up to a month on a single charge with regular use (3-4 UV cycles per day). We have not independently tested this yet.
- Are all LARQ bottles self-cleaning? | No, they have some other products including a bottle with a built-in straw filter. It does not have the self-cleaning UV light function of their most well-known bottle.
